WingTsun Seminars
The subject of Martial Arts and in particular Self Defence is an enormous one and as a result the seminar has become a staple part of many styles and systems the world over.
Since its creation the European Wing Tsun Organisation (EWTO) has strived to make the membership and learning of our Self Defence System as accessible as possible. We have a variety of seminars available to our members that cater to different aspects of our Kung Fu system.
We have three broad groups of seminars:
- The first, are those organised on a national or international level, where we have invited one or more of the Wing Tsun Masters or Grandmasters to instruct over a whole weekend. The subject matter of these seminars varies but almost always presents both students and instructors alike with brand new material regarding the theories and practices of the Wing Tsun system. The intention is for our Martial Art to develop in an progressive way as possible while still maintaining the strong foundations that have made Wing Tsun world renown. These regular seminars ensure that we do not stagnate or ignore any developments made in the sciences of body mechanics and conflict psychology.
- The second type of seminar we hold are run by the instructors of the WingTsun School in the Midlands. These are oriented towards detailing the subject matter in the standard curriculum. Our Kung Fu syllabus takes an average student two years to achieve their Twelfth Grade by studying our rotating themes for two months each. This means that a student's knowledge of the system is at first quite broad. So to make the curriculum more accessible we have developed a series of seminars that allow us to cover a lot more detail of the themed programmes.Ideally this is intended to work along side regular training; but not everyone can attend every class, so our seminars present any member with the opportunity to cover gaps in his or her training.
- The third group of seminars are those that the WT Midlands instructors compile for specific groups by appointment. We arrange these when requested to do so by many different groups and businesses; for example we have a set of seminars purely on the subject of Women's Self Defence and Child Safety.
Because of the flexible nature of our system we can put together one or more defence-oriented seminars to suit most needs. If you are a business owner, charity manager, school teacher or a member of any similar group; and you are concerned for the safety of your employees, co-workers, or members you are welcome to email us at the address below and we will be in touch to discuss your requirements and how we can help to achieve them.
With the exception of our custom designed sessions, the seminars are held at schools or purpose booked venues across the region, we will be posting the specifics of dates and locations on this site.
If you require any further information simply email us at enquiries@wtmidlands.com or contact your local instructor where details can be found on our schools page.
