Is WingTsun a sport or a martial art?
WingTsun is purely a Martial Art for self-defence.

Will learning Wing Tsun Kung Fu help me defend myself and make me fitter?
With training undoubtedly - yes to both!

How long is each class?
1½ Hours.

How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on how often and which programme of advancement you wish to train on. Also membership with the Wing Tsun Schools of Mastery is for life, so once you have reached your set goal; you may, if you do not wish to further your studies to higher levels, retrain any of your material for the rest of your life at no extra cost.

How many classes can I attend?
You may attend as many as you like within your chosen course.

Will I get hurt?
No. The classes are closely supervised and all techniques are executed with control.

Am I insured?
Yes, you are automatically covered by our full insurance.

What is the EWTO-UK?
The EWTO-UK is an organisation set up by full time professional Wing Tsun instructors for the development and progression of the art of the >Wing Tsun Kung FU system and its students.

Are there any Courses or Seminars?
Yes there are a variety of courses every month and once you are a member of the WingTsun Schools of Mastery you are entitled to attend seminars at any of the schools during the year.

What do I wear?
Jogging bottoms, t-shirt and trainers are fine. Full Wing Tsun Schools of Mastery uniform and training aids are available from WingTsun By Design ltd.

Do I have to be fit?
No, you will get fitter through training.

Can anyone learn the Wing Tsun Kung Fu System?
Yes, regardless of age, sex or physical attributes.

Can I get a Career in Martial Arts with the Wing Tsun Schools of Mastery?
Yes, The Wing Tsun Schools of Mastery are dedicated to the idea that anyone can have a career in martial arts and we offer many opportunities for those who wish to pursue this avenue.

What Qualifications do the Instructors have?
All our Instructors have completed the student curriculum and are either Technicians examined by Grand Master Kernspecht or are within a stage of their Technical Training. Sifu Scott Rowlinson has personally trained all of our instructors to the exacting standards set by the EWTO-UK.

How many Grades are there?
There are 12 student grades, 4 technical grades, 4 master grades and 3 Grandmaster grades. Training to all levels is possible within the Wing Tsun Schools of Mastery.

How long will it take me to become an instructor?
This depends on the individual, however a minimum of three years is required to achieve a Technical Grade, our training system allows us to begin instructing at a minimum of 9th student grade. Ask your instructor for details or contact us on enquiries@wtmidlands.com

Where can I train?
Once you are a member you may train at any of our schools in the midlands.

What happens if I cannot attend?
The Wing Tsun Kung Fu student grade system was designed by Grandmaster Kernspecht to address the fact that most Europeans are not always able to train as much as their Chinese counterparts. The rotating training system and grading methods we use mean that you will be able to catch up on material you have missed. Otherwise there is no time limit on your membership.
